Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed stressed, on Friday, during his meeting with his Iranian counterpart, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, that the UAE “believes in the importance of building bridges of positive communication and fruitful cooperation with the countries of the region and consolidating concepts of good neighborliness.”
During the meeting, which was held on the sidelines of the “BRICS Friends” meeting in Cape Town, South Africa, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed and his Iranian counterpart exchanged “views on issues of common concern, regional and international developments, in addition to the situation in the region,” according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).
During the meeting, they discussed ways to advance bilateral relations between the two countries, and enhance cooperation in a way that achieves their common interests and enhances the security, stability and prosperity of the region.
The Iranian news agency (IRNA) said that the Iranian foreign minister discussed with his Emirati counterpart “issues of common and regional concern.”
